After two decades, House of 1000 corpses stars Rob, Sherry Moon Zombie, Chris Hardwick and Rainn Wilson are reunited
“House of 1000 Corpses” is a 2003 American horror film written, co-scored and directed by Rob Zombie in his directorial debut. The film centers on two missing teenagers and their friends’ search for them after they end up in the clutches of a homicidal family. “House of 1000 Corpses” was both a commercial and critical failure.
The film was shot in locations throughout California in 2001. The production was unable to secure traditional financing, and the majority of the budget came from Zombie’s personal savings. The film’s release was delayed due to difficulties in finding a distributor. “House of 1000 Corpses” was finally released through Lions Gate Entertainment on April 11, 2003.

The film received generally negative reviews from critics. However, it has since gained a cult following. A sequel, “The Devil’s Rejects”, was released in 2005.
